About True North
True North is a life skills and accountability coaching practice that helps teens and adults get unstuck, build confidence, and move forward.
We work with people who feel frustrated by patterns they haven’t been able to change or who simply need more structure, direction, and accountability in their lives. For young adults, that might mean navigating the transition to independence, finding a job, managing responsibilities, developing healthier routines, or learning how to follow through. For others, it may mean navigating a professional or personal transition, strengthening relationships, improving health and wellness, or re-entering the world of dating.
Unlike therapy, which often focuses on processing the past, our approach is forward-focused and action-oriented. Together, we identify what isn’t working, create a realistic plan, and build the accountability needed to turn intention into action.
Because how we function in one area of our lives often affects another, we also look at the habits that support overall well-being—sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress, relationships, communication, and the way we speak to ourselves.
The goal isn’t simply to accomplish a list of tasks. It’s to help clients develop the skills, confidence, and self-accountability to better manage their lives and continue moving forward on their own.
About Michele
Grounded in both academic rigor and clinical wellness training, founder Michele Simonte integrates strategic thinking with mind-body alignment. She holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University, graduating with high distinction, and a certification in Lifestyle and Wellness Medicine from Harvard Medical School, where she trained with Dr. Beth Frates, President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Through that program, Michele studied the foundational pillars of lifestyle medicine, including nutrition, exercise, stress management, and self-accountability. Dr. Frates’ work approaches wellness as an interconnected system of mind, body, and emotional health. Michele also received a certification from Yale University’s Science of Well-Being program, led by Dr. Laurie Santos, which explores the psychological research on how habits, relationships, and mindset support a more fulfilling life.
Together, these programs reinforce what research consistently shows: our physical health and habits are inseparable from our emotional health and mindset, and that true well-being is defined by achieving both.
